I have a suspicion that the front runners of the full distance are going to catch the half marathon riders between the new signal gun ST climb and the blue route ST descent into Contermans. That will make for some interesting dynamics, especially among possible contenders on both distances.

Just received my seeding. B group, kicking off at 07:15. No surprises there. Nice early start.

Me too, check for the fat guy on a Giant XTC!

Are they accepting line/late entries on the day?

They have been so far..

The nice thing about the series so far is that it has not been over-subscribed, so even though there are participants, it is still a jol, and not over crowded like your more popular mass events like Burger, CTCT MTB etc. etc.

Any particular reason for the earlier start for the Marathon?

Possible high temp "speculation" when event organisation gets finalised,..CWC 65km started at 5:45!..and I'm glad it did...

Not too sure on the distance for the marathon as my computer shut down. Lots of congestion on singletrack after marathon came back into meerendal (marathon riders caught behind I presume the 10km as lots of really little kids). Also caught behind lots of 40km riders through contermanskloof where both marathon and half marathon took the same route. Other than the congestion issues and a few dodgy arrows in meerendal, the route was enjoyable and loved the climb back to the masts and even got to ride with an Eland calf chasing us on the other side of the fence.

so how was it? How much climbing measures on the 63km?

The congestion was frustrating at times, but a good event. Not as many people as one would expect.

62km 1675m is the avg on Strava of my and a few other guys.
