Craig8252 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks guys! I am leaning towards the Cannondale Scalpel 1. Would any of you guys upgrade anything on this bike, like the XT brakeset to XTR? Also thinking of going 1x11, but not sure as I like high cadence on the climbs.
BarryH Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Also just have a look at or take the trigger out for a spin.80mm of travel on climb, which is stiff enough, and 130mm for the downhill stuff. It climbs very well and is great downhill. This bike really covers a lot of different riding options.
rudi-h Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 not going back into the xc/enduro debate again, but i'd recommend at least trying out a 120mm - 140mm bike before splashing the cash on a scalpel rather than to assume that its going to be slow and not suited to your riding style
Ispeed_V Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Wish I had that amount to spend on a new MTB.... If I did, Trek Superfly
Wolfie1 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Rockey Mountain element depending on your riding style. Carbon models should be in your budget range. They handle and feel like a LT bike bike weights are xc spec.
spy Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 the cannondale's head top tube alu cup can be placed at the bottom of the headtube and therefore slacken the angles a bit .......making it n bit more trail orientated .
