BREAKING NEWS! Partnership with Wannabees Cycling Club

Hi guys,

Following the disaster that hit Tokai and surrounds in February, Wannabees and TokaiMTB have come together to find an alternative for all those who want to continue riding their bikes, but don't want to trump up the often large cost of a daily MT permit, especially given that some of us like to ride very often.

To this end, Wannabees have very graciously offered a discount on their club fees for the remainder of the calendar year, in order to allow us to have access to their trails at a special rate.

This special rate is R 185 and allows access to the Wannabees extensive trail network in the Helderberg region and surrounding areas

These trails include trails on the following wine farms

Ernie Els

Longridge

Alto

Dornier

Audacia

Stellenrust

Blaauwklippen

Lord Charles

SomerboschMiravel & Bredell

Faure

Billy Visser

Also included are the Southey Vines trails, which many have spoken of in the past.

As for the process, all that you need to do is make contact with Ian Van Jaarsveld at secretary@wannabteam.com whilst including a copy of your wildcard / activity permit & ID, and he will get the ball rolling for you. If you want any more information on what the club offers, or how to get to the trails, your best bet is to speak to Ian or access the website at www.wannabteam.com where the majority of information will be.

Yours in cycling,

Just question Cz I've never heard of any of these places before.

Is riding threre aimed at xc style or is there some gravity bits too?

Marathon type riding. Long kms of farm Road with a bit of single track here and there to connect roads.

If you want gravity orientated type riding, sign up for a Helderberg Trails membership. Aka Steilte. This is singletrack that you'll appreciate.

Different strokes for different folks.

I'm not criticising anyone. Appreciate what wannabees has to offer as well Cz I am/was a tokai member.

I just wanted to know what the trails was like.

Steilte, yeah okay but it's mostly gravity with insane climbs, atleast with jonkers and tokai. The climbs was moderate and also for every climb there was a descent.

Sorry guys didn't mean to offend, it's just a sad case figuring out where to ride each weekend.
