South Coast Riding

Hi All,

I'll be on the south coast next week, near Southbroom. Drinking beer and lying on the beach isn't ideal preparation for Sani2C so i'll take my bike along if anyone can suggest somewhere to ride that isn't just the emergency (read: taxi) lane on the freeway.

Any ideas/good suggestions?

Thanks!

There are trails at Beaver creek cofee estate. Turn right at the robot at port edward, first left and just carry on till it's on your left.

Not that long if I remember correctly between 15 and 25 I think. It is called Clearwater trails, so you can go and check them out on the web. There are some very nice views from these trails.

Outstanding. I'd rather do a few laps of that than be stuck on the road.

You guys have made my day.

Great tip there lads. Rode this morning, had the family join me for lunch and then took in the gorge views from the deck. Fantastic!

If you're up for the drive, go through to Lake Eland, about 45 minutes from Southbroom. Around 40km of trail, some hard climbing and fast downhills, and you get to ride with the wildlife. If you're fast enough you can ride in the pack with the buck as they run, but just don't piss the giraffe off.

The trails are at Clearwater Farm. You go past Beaver Creek to get there. There are signs. Take some $$ or a credit card on the ride cos you will go past the Beaver Creek restaurant/coffee shop about 2/3 of the way through the ride ( blue route).

Ridden there 3 times the last few weeks. Nice trails, nearly all prepared single track. There are some longer options if you are training for S2C.

Thanks for the review. My brother and I anticipate hitting clearwater tomorrow and maybe Friday.
