Hi All

I am 1.88m tall, and have been of the opinion that I am an in need of an XL frame....however this website kinda throws that theory out of the window.......can any one advise more appropriately please?

If you add the frame size in and click on view.....as an example I add 19.5" it tells me that frame is for height range 178cm to 193cm........and that's on a Medium frame???

Could that be correct?

Both Hardtail and Software options seem to yield the same information!

Please could someone advise if this is accurate?

1.88m is XL in my world. It depends on manufacturer a bit tho. I am 1.81 which is middle of L range on my SC but I can go M or L on a Giant .

Within your 1.88m there can be some variation between leg and torso length so manufacturer's recommendation are still just a general guide

I'm 1.86 and ride a 60cm cannondale Road bike, XL in almost every brand. However my mountain bike is a L(21 inch), I ride a Merida big nine and their large is a 21 inch frame. Their XL is a 23 inch frame. Most manufacturers would deem a 21 inch as XL. So just check on the manufacturer and what you looking for.

Inseam would be your start point.

Exactly.

If you're a short-leg guy, then you may need to consider a large in certain manufacturer frames, but only if you're going to be running a dropper, which means you then need to consider the seat tube length and how much exposed seatpost you can run (which incidentally determines the drop you can run on the dropper)

If you're not running a dropper, then no issue. XL all the way. Remember to choose a frame that has your preferred reach measurements though.
