I didn't share it, but I backed up a mate of mine who did by referring to the 6 degrees of separation thing, and that most of us in this age of social media have a friend's friend's friend living somewhere close to the place that it happendd.

What I have noticed is that the bikes must be stripped where they are stolen and then sent up into Africa. I have come across many bikes that have various parts that don't match the bikes and are high end. The rumours around here are that many are taken to Mozambique via Mangochi in Malawi.

In the last few weeks I've seen two suspicious-looking bikes and riders. 1. Voortrekker road, Parow - a blingy white hipster single-speed, ridden by a guy in painter's overalls. 2. A road bike with quality wheels ridden by a kid in jeans and a hoodie. Both times I was in traffic going the other way and they may both belong to the riders but they looked out of place.... What should we do in these situations?
