I'm waiting for the new 2016 Anthems. As other post stated they will be here end of July.

The 29'r is new and not just a paint change, but a reworked model.

Should be good

now this is an interesting reply...i was told that there will only be minor changes...like the colour and innner tube cabling and that is about it...no suspension or frame upgrades...if anything the spec will be lower and the bike will cost more...1 month to go and the 2015 will be an old model...which will be unloaded for a little less than they are this month.

please share if this is not the case because i am gona pretty pissed off if there are major improvements.

pedal bob probably depends on damper settings, I've set the Giant to slow to compensate for the over the handle bar feeling I got, and now suffers from pedal bob, both large frames, but the Giant top tube a little shorter that the Scott, my Honest opinion is that the Giant was a bit of an old man bike, you really have to push it hard before it comes into its own, I am by no way dissing the bike, I love it, like I said, depending on what type of rider you are, both have it weaknesses and strengths, the Twinlock is actually something I really miss on the Giant, Specially if you doing those long 5km gravel road climbs

i fall into the old mans bike category...so it should suit me just right.

a question with regards to the size frame to all the anthem riders...medium or large?

I am 1.8 m tall...when i test rode the medium and large it felt better on the large...but felt like i would need to reduce the stem slightly.

Large. No question...

Shorten the stem slightly if you feel a bit too stretched out when seated.

pulling the trigger on that next month.

which fork you riding by the way?

I run a Suntour Epicon, not the greatest fork in the world but for the price it's great value for money.

I am 1.78 and have a large, 70mm stem and 740mm bars. At the time it was a warranty replacement for a cracked carbon hardtail so went with the LBS suggestion on size, I do feel cramped at times though and might have given a XL a go if I could have a do over, shortish toptube on the Anthem means reach is cramped in my case.

You should be good on a large although trya and have a test ride first if possible.

The Giant Rep I chatted to a few weeks back said it was a reworked model, obviously there will be colour changes, and he did mention internal cabling etc.

He said Giant had put development work into it and it wasn't the same as the 2012-2015 range.

I am waiting for the Carbon version of which he said there are 3, I've ordered the XT version (2x11). As to final spec, price, photo I have no idea yet. Neither do they, so we wait and hope.

Something else I am considering after chatting to someone today...27.5...the reason because I fall smack in the middle of the giant chart between medium and large...and the 27.5 large might make for a comfortable ride...my only concern is resale...like a 26...because they are not the size of choice...you can pick them up for a fraction of the price.

I read the review for the anthem 27.5 by Claudio in March 2014...mms this could be what the 2016 bike is gona look like...inner tube cabling etc...he mentions the BB would be better an inch higher...with a heavy person like myself this could be interesting...but as entry level rider...I doubt I would even notice it.

It seems nobody knows or should I say....Sharing information or specs about the 2016 anthem.

Giant themselves haven't released the details.

They are having the 2016 range launch this week in Europe I would imagine the details will start coming out quite soon.

I am hoping for a longer TT and internal routing on the alloy Anthem 29er frames.

Got the 2015 Anthem SX for mrs mountain_lion on Friday to replace her stolen 2007 Anthem.

Of course it was not on for her to have a new bike without something for me, so I got the 2015 Trance 2 :) Both 27.5 wheels.

Dragon sports were fantastic with their support during the evaluation period. We had a demo Anthem 1 and Trance 2 on two weekends (unfortunately no demo SX available).

If your LBS does not offer to get demo bikes, contact Dragon directly and ask them to arrange with the LBS.

The Anthem SX (Anthem with 120mm fork and dropper post) is a great bike. If you race XC for podium, get the normal Anthem; if not get the SX - so much more fun.

(For even more fun on the down hills and rough stuff, get the Trance).

In general the Giant bikes are all very good value for money.

Took some shots of Mrs mountain_lion's Anthem SX, hope you dont mind me sharing ....

We all just love those colours!

Any reason why you didn't go with the ladies specifc Liv models?

If you want a bit more travel in the ladies range you have to go to the Intrigue but that is more of a trail bike than an XC bike such as the Anthem.  Or you would have to look at the Stance but thats a "mens" bike between the Trance and Anthem, in terms of travel.

The Liv Lust's are slightly lower specked than the comparing Anthem, not so much on the suspension but more on the drivetrain components.

And now for the big one ... some of the girlies are just not that into the girlie colours!

We sold plenty of these in the 2014 colours ...
