But to throw a pig into the water - Algeria only recieved its independance from France in 1962, prior to that was a part of France - so for the 1950 TDF was still then part of France.

 

So technically which ever way you look at it for all purposes it was a French registered team with some African riders.

the question is, not many people have suitcases in africa. so imagine "tekla teklhaimanot the tunisian is digging into his polyethylene bag of courage"

 

 

 

There's not much to be said about "The Heads of State" here, so unless they're up for the lantern rouge, I don't expect to hear that one very often.
