Ladies bibs

For the ladies.

My missus (not on the hub) needs new bibs.

She has First Ascent (not very comfy on long rides) and Spez bibs.

I ride Assos and IMO they better than Craft, PI or Spez.

Without paying school fees, any suggestions for my missus?

Just bought a pair of Nalini unisex bibs from Complete Cyclist in JHB for R820 which are great quality and very comfy. I have a pair of First Ascent from last year that I hardly wear that are worn, wont buy that brand again. My boyf has the same Nalini bibs and he loves them (and hes a snob when it comes to cycling kit!).

Anatomic Bibs are good value for money. Nice chamois, good quality Lycra and a zip for the call of nature.

Sadly Assos only does 1 ladies option and it pricey. And in my opinion best suited for road as you don't move around as much in the saddle.

"But if she likes the bib then don't be a cheapskate and buy it for her - if u can ride in it so can she" ;) ;)

Your wife can fit men's or unisex bibs and see if they are comfy but I find men's chamois a bit big generally.

My other bib are the FA but the proelite which aren't made anymore afaik - sadly as they were very good.

And a random one called exteondo which stunning but I wouldn't know where to get.

The Craft bibs are also in the high end price bracket but they have a nice chamois too.

Did I say try Anatomic ?? :)

I prefer my Craft bibs (Assos too expensive) but got them on sale. And I stay far away from men's or unisex (another word for mens) bibs. Never again.

"Cheapskate", ...you've hurt my feelings :(  .

I just bought her a pair of S-Works MTB shoes and she's on a Spez already.

I've paid enough school fees with my bibs, and appreciate all the help with the ladies gear. ;)

See that's why we are here - Assos are expensive school fees :)

Shhhh on the Spaz stuff - us riders are trying to convince everyone on this Forum it's not about the brand.... :whistling:

Assos works for me.

Funny thing is, I bought Assos bibs at +-1/3 cheaper at VeloSport in Zurich, than they cost here.

Thanx for the advice ;)

Pics or this thread serves no purpose

I got my wife some Pearl Izumis which are constructed with what i can only describe as a flap in the back that is not attached to the bibs at the back. So as a lady, when she goes to the loo she doesn't have to undress.

She loves them. This feature is something she really likes. Especially MTBing in the field......

And the Pearl Izumis are great - not cheap though.

Ah nice for some feed back on those bibs - I wondered how well they worked - too me they seemed a bit too short like - even with the bib straps. Difficult to explain but I figured they would eventually stretch out and not fit as snug as a bib is supposed too...
