wisecrack Posted April 7, 2008 Share With my new CF bike and all it's CF bits I'm looking at investing in a torque wrench to tighten all the bolts and bits without the fear of cracking something. I have looked to buy online and this(see link) seems to be what I might be looking for http://pickatool.co.za/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/251_252/products_id/11117 My question is if this would be the right one to get and maybe if anyone out there knows of a similar or better wrench at maybe a better price which I can maybe pickup from a shop. AndreZA Posted April 7, 2008 Share Get the BBB one for about R550. It's made for bicycles and comes will all the bits you will need on a bike.

Wolweseun Posted April 7, 2008 Share You need a range from 4Nm to abut 25NmIt is a good idea to have a small torque wrench for this most are roughly R1000The one from pickatool is from 40nm -210if you want to tighten cassettes and BB's you will need another torque wrench as well Shimano cassetes are 50Nm
wisecrack Posted April 7, 2008 Share The picture is only a sample and not the actuall one I'm considering. The one from pick a tool I'm considering is 6 to 30NM. I will go and have a look at my LBS though for the BBB one.

Dr. Seuss Posted April 7, 2008 Share you can get the Norbar from http://www.toolshop.co.za/ nice thing is that the guy checks if it is calibrated correctly etc. and you can take it back for calibration whenever you want.
Christie Posted April 7, 2008 Share BBB one sounds nice too. I went for Norbar because that is what we use at work, I was familiar with them & liked them a lot. Minimum torque should be at least 4Nm. The 6Nm one will not be able to torque some of the small bolts.
