PPA/CSA Discount for races

Just a quick question wrt the recent news regarding the PPA/CSA working together now. In terms of doing a PPA Event, and if I'm not a PPA member, will I now get a time from Racetec as long as I have a CSA membership?

Also, do I get a discount for these races if I'm a CSA member only?

Just trying to see whether it's worth my while to still renew my PPA membership?

I seriously doubt it'll work like that. They aren't THAT close. PPA gets no benefit from CSA and CSA gets no benefit from PPA events. The only thing that's really changed is that licensed riders can take part in PPA events that are not santioned by CSA without fear of getting banned from CSA sanctioned events.

No, you will not be timef if you only belong to CSA

Timing is paid for by PPA membership fees and only paid up PPA members get timed.

(The only exception to this is the big races like the Argus)

If you do a PPA race where a CSA day licence would be required, then you will not have to pay for that if your CSA membership is paid up.

(That's how I understand it, but then, these things can be a bit smoke and mirrors at the best of times, not to mention cloak and dagger. )

The only problem is that if you want to do One Tonner or any PPA fun rides, you will start at the back if you are not PPA member???

For the PPA funrides, yes, you will have to start at the back with a temporary number.

If it is a race that does its own seeding, like the Burger or the 99er, then you start where you get seeded. I think the 1 Tonner falls into that category but I'm not sure.

One Tonner uses PPA seeding, that's why teams that uses it as a dress rehearsal for the DC, starts with the slowest seeded rider in the team.
