alexrn Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Hi, greetings!!! i just open my account and the problems begin , i just bought a Cannondale Trigger 29er Carbon frame 2014, without shock, and looking for it, i was informed that the frame needs a FOX DYAD RT2 shock priced €600, i want to know if i can change this shock and use a normal barrel shock, the distance eye to eye is 155mm (6.1"), i´ll apreciate your help guys!
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Nope. It must be a pull shock.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Check with the cannondale agents (Omnico, I think) to see if they have any.
NotSoBigBen Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Check with the cannondale agents (Omnico, I think) to see if they have any. Omnico in 'Argentina' .....
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 You may be able to get hold of another pull shock with the same e2e, but they're not that common and from what I remember seeing there are only a couple of options. In that measurement there may only be that one. I dunno.
patches Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 As Renaissance Man said, the Trigger (as well as Jekyll, and Claymore) use pull shocks. In other words it works in reverse. Like plugging a syringe and trying to pull it. Certain Scotts (Ransom and some of the Genius models), and also used pull shocks. But I don't know if the E2E will match the trigger. So your best bet is to contact Omnico, perhaps they have a DYAD2 for a reasonable fee. Or, ask them if they can source an X-Fusion P1-RL. This doesn't have the dual chamber/travel feature of the DYAD2 but it is a lot cheaper. It used to come on the entry level Triggers. http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/shocks-suspension/934601d1414499173-x-fusion-p1-rl-single-barrel-pull-rear-shock-p1-rl.jpg http://stwww.bikemag.com/files/2012/06/X-Fusion.jpg http://www.bikewagon.com/x-fusion-p1-rl-single-barrel-pull-rear-shock-oem-black

Only problem with that is that the trigger in the pic seems to have a different linkage... maybe the older one. If they have one with the same eye to eye and stroke measurements though, it'll definitely be an option

And I doubt Cannondale revised the linkage then said to Fox "Now change your DYAD". I'd imagine with DYADs being produced in fairly limited numbers, and having almost no resemblance to any other Fox shock, that the Linkage was designed around the existing DYAD, and not the other way around. I may be wrong though. But basically if one can determine that the DYAD hasn't changed over the past 3 years, then the E2E and stroke that the linkage uses (no matter what it looks like) would not have changed either.

That is so true... but yeah. Good luck, OP!

alexrn Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP I FIND TWO OPTIONS , IN GERMANY AND FRANCE, ONLY THE DYAD FITS MY FRAME, THE PRICE IS €527 . AND I CAN´T FIND SOMEONE THAT HAVE THE X FUSION TO ASK HIM
JanInSoCAL Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Hi, I guess you got sorted by now but since I own one of the first 2013 Trigger's which was released with the X-fusion shock and uses the same linkage as far as I can tell than the Diad II but the X-fusion rear shock is a POS and I would not recommend it to anyone. The X-Fusion shock leaked since day one except now you have to pump it much more frequent than when it was new. I am planning to switch to a Dyad II so please feel free to contact me in case you would like to make a deal for the X-fusion shock and get it serviced/fixed. Regards.
