UCI MTB World Cup DH#7 - Val di Sol

Stretch

Recommended Posts

From weak beer and country hicks....an inter-continental plane flight...... to the land of models pasta and the mafia....who's gonna take the famous val di sol title and ultimately the WC winners medal...

Points are tighter than a ducks backside, so we are sure to see aaron ,loic greg and troy giving it all in timed practice, qualies and of course the main event.

greg has a (very) outside chance that involves both loic and gwin not featuring in the top 5...Loic on the other hand has a real chance to snatch the victory from gwin...but I reckon it requires him to get that elusive first win AND be up there for timed and qualies....gonna be exciting

redbull didnt update theitr standings after windham...this is what it looks like now...so only really greg has a chance that involves Gwinn stuffing up qualies and final run.....

I am more confused than ever... thought Greg was lying second, but just found this from the UCI website

I am Greg's biggest fan, but after seeing this, I want Luic to win.  Having said that... Aaron probably deserves to win with that killer ride in Windham and the chainless ride before that.

Too many scenarios... too close

No points for timed practice

Not sure of your last statement. Didn't Rachel win the title at Windham before the race thanks to her qualifying run i.e she got the 50 points.

qualies yes..but i though there were a smattering of points available for time training..like 5 or 10 ten points

50 points for a quali win certainly does not put Aaron out of reach... he still needs to do well in finals to win overall...

Spot on about Rachel sealing the win on her qualifying points from Windham. Not sure how the breakdown works exactly but maybe Nigel Hicks or Renaissance Man can shed some light on that!

So for Greg to win the simple equation in that winning  the quallie and the race with Gwinn second won't do it. He needs to win and Gwinn to be worse than Third in either the Race or the Quallie if he gets third in both and Greg wins it's all tied and I've got no knowledge of the rules in this case. As for Loic as long as Greg beats him in both he wins.
