strawman argument. No one blew up when greg got whisked off. Totally different situation. Then again Greg's pure class in the eye of the public. but wait, i and others got that from watching TV. we must be wrong. ;)

Then Minnaar is also a sell out for all the clothing endorsements he chases. You know, being wisked off after podium presentations in a chopper to go and prance around in a tux. How dare these guys follow the most lucrative offer in a sport where your career is shorter than Pistorius' temper and your next paycheck may never come due to a freak crash.

You telling me if you get a financially more rewarding offer in your line of work you're not going to go for it? Sentiment and adoration doesn't feed the baby.

Me thinks you don't know the full story, I will give you the condensed version...

2012 DH season comes to an end, Gwin klaps everyone and is the rockstar of the DH circuit. Sam Hill's contract with spez comes to an end he signs with CRC...Spez is puzzling, they need a big name podium contender for 2013. Meanwhile Gwin signs an intent document that he will be racing for TWR in 2013...hell sommer get a press release in pinbike

Meanwhile back at the spez ranch they still don't have a big name rider. So what does E-corp do....they offer gwin stupid geld to breach the intent contract he signed, make his word cheap but the zak will be worth it I am sure he was told. They probably also handled the legalities...we mos know how much E-corp loves them lawsuits. But here is the real dick move, he does this a couple of weeks before TWR has to submit their rider list for upcoming season...dropping them in the poo on 99%. Lets them know via a lawyer that he won't be riding for them no matter what he signed. Trek obviously wants to see what can be done to remedy but he just sees dollars. He starts with spez in 2013 and has a horrible season....rouxtjie loving life, my tone krul van plesier because he did so ***...

But lets sum it up now and to answer your question

Of course I would, but there is a thing called loyalty and integrity, see if another company offers me more money but I must leave my company immediately without working my notice period(dropping my current employer and breaching my employment contract)...No thanks...keep your new job, if you expect me to do things this way, what else would you expect from me. That is inline with what your man did...dick move don't you think?

Oh well, the Gwinn-is-a-dick-for-chasing-a-buck is a refreshing break from Gwinn-is-a-dick-for-expressing-his-beliefs.

Oh ja forgot to mention that, its actually both...he did all of the above whilst wearing a WWJD bracelet.

Which is why I prefer Mik Hannah to Gwin ito being an example of a good highly competitive Christian athlete. Nothing wrong with expressing faith as long as it actually falls in line with the stated core values of the faith.
