New bike if I loose 13 kg

I am going to portion control, and track food with fatsecret. Skipping rice and taking more veggies etc. Skip chocolates and other TV snacks. (As dirtypot did)

I will have to get more exercise, not sure when but I have to  make a plan. I am very keen on track cycling, but with the two jobs and studies..... I know "I don't have time" is an excuse.

I think that will be the least disruptive and closest to the a sustainable lifestyle, since my wife is tiny and can not loose any more weight. (<50 kg and no she is not sick, just very small framed)

If that works to slow, I will have to adjust my diet, and we will have to cook separate meals.

I am also going to up my water intake, and start the day with hot lemon and honey water.

For now I think that is about it.

Very cool allrounder... following your journey.

I've also set myself a couple of goals to earn myself a sexy black number (there's a DS Cube with my name on it)

Good luck to you

I have lost 19kg in the last 11 weeks.  Feel great and my cholesterol, blood pressure, etc is down.  My doc and Discovery is happy for now.

Personally, I found trying to track my intake a pain in the A!  You will know when you are cheating or eating too much.  It's not rocket-science.  Just think twice before you put on the plate, open the packet or place the order.  Also, think salad, not chips.

Sorry, it might be a pain, but people who guesstimate their intake will never show the results of something that is measured.

My wife guesstimated her calorie intake and when I showed her the actuals on a tracker, she was always under guesstimating. It's called opinion bias.

Once you have been tracking it for a while, THEN you get a good feel for what is what.

It might be a pain, but anything worth while is a bit of effort.

Because I have little self control when it come to snacks and sweets, I will have to track my intake, so that I can "see" the damage....I do believe that it can get a pain, but I believe the faster I get going and then staying the better.

Just read about a diet, that you are not allowed to eat more than a dessert bowl of food. That is veggies and proteins and carbs..

The girlfriend has me doing this. Instead of using a normal dinner plate i dish up all my food onto a side plate and not let any of the food touch. Makes the portions smaller. I also eat slower, i used to demolish a full plate of food in 3-5 minutes, not it takes me 10-15 minutes with a small plate. Only been doing this for 2 weeks and lost 5kg so far.

I I could cycle as fast as I eat I would have been the winner of Le Tour.....

I think this is a good place to start, If nothing happens for a week Ill adapt diet. But I will keep on tracking my intake, as this will keep me under control.

Dude, it's simple. Eat 1000cals a day less than you need, and you will lose 1kg per week. That is all that there is to it. How you achieve that is up to you.

To know how much "1000cals less than I need" is you need to track how much you eat.

Food trackers don't lie, can't cheat and don't say to themselves, "I'll have an extra bite".

Trust me, just track your intake HONESTLY if you want results.
