Did you guys notice that the race goes over Hells Hoogte TWICE !!!

Not according to the route description.

"Right after the start, you’ll head up Helshoogte for your first big climb, turning left onto the R45 towards Paarl. Venturing out to Wellington, Hermon, and Riebeeck Kasteel, you’ll tackle your second climb up Botmaskloof Pass (near Riebeeck Kasteel) before reaching Malmesbury. Then it’s onto the R304 past the silo’s and back towards Stellenbosch via Kromme Rhee Road and the R44, finishing on Helshoogte Road with a neutral zone back to the venue"

I would imagine it to be the same as the Burger route from where you join the R44 from Kromme Rhee road.. Finish just before the Traffic Light at foot of Helz.

I would imagine that that last "climb" is Remhoogte.

No, that graph is all types of wrong.

You only do it once, relax. You go up Helshoogte road and end just before the Spa.

Also if the venue is in Stellenbosch how would you climb it again and end up in Stellenbosch?

I hope I'm wrong but the elevation gain towards the end of the profile is looking rather rather ominous.

I think that graph is what the elevation FEELS like at that point in the ride. The final few rollers feel like you doing Hellshoogte again. :P :P :P

Roadies cannot even turn around in the best of times, you think they would do it at the top of a hill blocking all the traffic :P

I'm going with u on this one. I think it would be a stupid to make a turn-around point on Hells Hoogte.

From the 2014 page - a bit different...

Curiously the route description is exactly the same, so lets just hope someone with a big sense of humour posted that graph on the 2015 website

Besides the odd MTB, its pretty safe, always good shoulder and normally good weather so plenty of visibility.
