Spirog Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 So, I've bought a new Garmin 810. I need to do a firmware update. However, when I connect it to the Windows PC (I've tried multiple) it isn't seen on the PC. The cable obviously works, because it's charging. I'm getting irritated. Grrrr. Help please!!!

shaper Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Can you see the garmin as a hard drive through windows explorer? And when you add a device in garmin express it does not see the 810? Take it to Navworld in Strijdom park and your laptop if you cant sort the issue http://www.navworld.co.za/find-us/
V12man Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Yes. It's not seeing the actual device when I plug it in.Is Windows seeing the device first? somtime I have Antivirus/firewall issues that stop it seeing the device.

Sani Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I suspect the cable is faulty, whilst it is charging the the garmin the computer is not reading the garmin... try another cable Had the same issue , 810 charged but I couldn't see the device on the PC , replaced the cable and it worked perfect .
Spirog Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Ok. I changed the cable and now it goes into mass storage mode. Some progress. However, when I open Garmin Express it tells me "Garmin Express does not support this device. Please use Garmin Map Updater."
