Alaphilippe can't help but look to his right as he ploughs on. This is his first Tour de France and he's soaking in the breathtaking views here.

And it's Pinot who takes the summit, comfortably getting the better of Majka. Are we seeing another Pinot resurgence here? Tony Martin wasn't bothered but he should regain contact on the descent.

I don't see the Maincheese in the peloton, but there is a LM rider with Alaphilippe. I hope he isn't trying to mark a rider that might not be the biggest white jersey contender.
