I am backing her class as a racer not her form. Hoping she'll have a bit of luck during the race. If not her then I'd settle for one of the canucks, preferably the one that drives us rather Batty.

We definitely had ladies in the form of Mariske Strauss & Cherie Redeker (Vale), I think both were fresh from recent European racing stints. Mariske reclaimed the SA title last month, so we definitely had the ladies available unless of course they were told to pay their own way. This was from a CSA newsletter heading earlier this year "Strauss ready for first XCO Cup with Rio Olympics in mind"

btw Ashleigh is a very capable mountain biker.

AFAIK they had very clear qualifying requirements and didn't make them. I think it was on UCI points.
