From understanding that part of the plan moving forward .

I'll guess at what that sentence actually means...Is this plan public knowledge? Wouldn't seem so. Little information about the campaign other than to get a hashtag trending has been imparted here or, as far as I can tell, elsewhere. One could hardly expect to elicit support for a campaign about awareness when one doesn't make their target audience aware of what it actually entails. And one certainly wouldn't be doing the "cause" any good by allowing a self-appointed spokesperson to belittle anyone who dares suggest something that doesn't suit them.

Correct me if I am wrong. But aren't you closely connected to the media?

Surely then you should be able to pull a few strings and get the correct people involved?

As I mentioned earlier, this is something I have gladly done in the past.

Interesting......that man really seems to get under your skin

...and, and should add, would gladly do again.

sorry but what I do not understand *excuse my grammer and spelling* is that you seems to be so against the whole idea and now all of a sudden you are offering your help?

I'm not picking a fight or trying to argue here so do not see it that way.

The way I see a campaign like this. Anything helps and I appreciate it. Even if it saves just one person from being knocked of his bike. Then it has already made a difference. You have to start somewhere.

We all remember the Ice bucket challenge. That also started as a #hashtag thing if I remember correctly. Did it make an impact . YES! Will we forget it anytime soon. Most likely not.

So something I've observed here on the hub is that any topic related to safety (be it on awareness raising, helmets, which side of the road) all get very emotional.

I think that while we don't all agree on how the best ways to improve safety are, we all agree that improving safety it is very important.

So lets all sing Kumbaya and proceed from there.

You'd like to think so, but no, you don't. Is this your "game"? There are other comments in that post. Care to address those? You can't? Thought not.

Erm, I hate to point out the obviaaaas, but he was referring to your constant sniping...

I didn't realise that I was "self appointed spokesperson".......does that title not fall on the the shoulders of the one/ones trying to get this campaign off the ground ?

Not in this case, no. Funnily enough, Tumbles and The Lawman agree and put aside their differences when it comes to safety of cyclists...

But in this case, "self appointed spokesperson" means you. Don't shoot the messenger.

No, I never said I was against it - that is an invention by BarHugger. My post asked a question about the effectiveness of hashtag campaigns and what makes the effective ones successful. There are many, many memorable hashtag and other social media campaigns out there, but many, many more fail to get off the ground. A discussion on this aspect could, I reckon, have been beneficial to the overall cause, yet someone seemed intent on stifling it because they had an axe to grind.

Ok then so you never said it in words but that was the impression I got from the way you conducted your question regarding the effectiveness.
