Will take place next Saturday.

I've done it several times in the past and it's fun. This year I'll have to do it on my MTB!

You usually get to see some celebs, there's a rolling road closure and you get coffee and a bun afterwards! What's not to like ?  :-)

I don't know if it's going to follow the same route as last year, but if it does:

Starts in the car park across the road from the Dome and heads up Northumberland, past Eagle Canyon Cycles as far as Beyers Naude Drive. Right turn onto Beyers and then follows the road out into the Cradle, crossing over the N14 on the way. Once you get to Elandsdrift Road, just before the Valverde country hotel, turn right again and head through the dip to Malabongwi. Right again at Malabongwi and head back towards Randburg past the new Cosmo shopping center until you get to Boundary Road. Right turn onto Boundary and straight up as far as the traffic circle where you turn left and drop back down onto Northumberland. Left turn and along to the Dome. Coffee and cake to follow.

It's basically a big rectangle. Pace should be "coffee shop pace" and it's good fun. I'll be on my MTB so I may be at the back!

Last year I got myself on TV :-)

Usually there are two paces, the front group ends up going quite fast towards the end but the bulk of people just cruise around within the rolling road block.

I'm on my MTB so I'll be slow :-)

Guys I must just say that I am disappointed. In the last 1km this morning on Wittkoppen a guy went down hard, in the back half of the group. NOBODY stopped to help the young man and check if he was ok, nevermind the guy who caused the accident!!

This wasn't a race it was supposed to be in the spirit of cycling. Sis!

That's not cool. Hope he's ok.

I was ok for a while but being on an MTB was hard work. I enjoyed the ride but it wasn't "social pace". Very enjoyable none the less.

Some roasties and bike a bit bent out of shape, but got him going again...
