I dont have an evolution fork but an older Talas 110mm-140mm adjustable and was wondering if there is anything that can be done to improve this?

A quick google search reveals you can change it to float but then its not adjustable and you stays at 140mm and I rarely adjust the travel and leave at 140mm.

Is this something that could be done? Should it be done?

Iirc he has it at 140mm. Ie spaghetti monster time

Something with a bigger stanchion is needed then. Don't waste cash on upgrading the damper when the chassis is flopping around like an overcooked noodle.

Yes. TALAS springs are the devil.

Thanks Droo. Any idea what the cost involved in this is?

Depends on availability of the old style springs - will have to check with the suppliers and let you know.

Probably only next week though unfortunately, it's Epic week right now.

It has made no difference in the flex I see on mine. Mine is not 20-25cm, more like 0.5cm. but it's still there and it's still the same amount as before after the upgrade of the damper. I'd say the flex is more something to do with the crown/stanchions/lowers that are not beefy enough. It's a lightweight fork

A fork that flexes 20-25cm. Yikes

No rush at all, whenever theres a gap as cash is tight anyways. Thanks

Jip 140mm travel.

Just to clarify the flex mostly became exaggerated when I went to a 203mm front rotor. At 180mm the flex wasn't too bad.

I do ride pretty rough though......

Fox 32 shouldn't be pushed above 120mm IMO. Revelation, Pike, Yari, 34, 36 or MRP Stage are good options for longer travel.

Somebody should tell Giant, that's the standard kit on my Trance 2

Price point I know.....

Yeah, they also invented OD2 and specced CTD EVO dampers.

Nobody's perfect.
