Quite a bit, it goes under the R44 and does some of the bits from Kanonkop up to Uitkyk.

 

For the past 5 years I have done both the Saturday and Sunday rides, well worth it.

 

Some good news from Dirtopia :

The Simonsberg Contour was held over many of the same trails a few weeks back. The routes looks much like the day 2 route used. While the fire damage is evident everywhere (we had some places where the fire was still smouldering during the SC) the team did a remarkable job to get the trails ride-ready.

 

How will they hold up with so many wheels? SC had about 500 riders, where the field is usually much bigger for the mtb argust. Lets hope that a bit of rain today and tomorrow will assist the trail builders to get the iffy sections sorted.

 

The big challenge will be to ensure that the trails are not all flushed down the mountains with the first big winter rains. Erosion is Meurant's next foe that is lurking after he defeated the fires a few weeks back.

Reminds me of the 2011 Argus 20K MTB at Boschendal, it was my first MTB ride.

So we have to ride through to Delvera just to pick up numbers?  Can't one get the numbers on the morning at the race?

Does any of the other mass participation events like the 94,7, CTCT or K2C allow number collection on the morning of the event? I would imagine that its a recipe for chaos if over 3000 people descend on a registration setup on the morning of an event.

Same here - I actually came looking for this thread to ask the same question - I was wondering if there was a problem with my entry. Previous years we received sms and email confirmation of our race numbers before registration. I'll take a printout of my entry confirmation to registration just to be sure.

 

Looking fwd to Sunday. The comments about congestion on the single track applied to earlier editions, but the last couple I have had no issues at all plus the new trails were excellent quality. Hope the fire has not changed too much in that regard.
