Base your decision on thatI do have mountain bike shoes but my boy will use them sometimes then he will use the 26" bike of mine and i do only road on my 29" so then i will use the road shoes
Sparki 1 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Thx guys but im still a little confused : If i buy road shoes can i cycle with mountain bike cleats - there is a pair of spez road shoes that i can buy for R350 and i have Trek mountain bike pedal/cleats .please post a pic of the pedals and cleats. u confuse me when u say u have a trek mountain bike pedal/cleats.
funjunkie Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 The pedal is a Shimano SPD pedal. You should be able to fit a SPD cleat to that shoe but i will not advise it. You will be walking on the cleat. You will have a few issues. 1. You will damage the cleat when walking on it. 2. You will probably slip and fall at some stage as is no traction underfoot.3. You are going to scratch your floors. Rather get a mountain bike shoe. There will be a recess for the cleat to fit under.
Rocket-Boy Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Hope you can see itThose pedals have a cleat system with different bolt arrangements to the Spez road shoes and wont work. If you need a pair of shoes to use with both bikes then do what Gummi suggested and get mtb shoes and put mtb pedals on the road bike.
