Hi.

I recently moved to the Vaal, and now live in Vaalpark.

I am looking for any good places to go and mountain bike in the Vaal area, or any groups riding in this area that know the trails.

Please let me know as just lapping Eco Park is getting boring.

I'm also interested in knowing. I grew up in the vaal and still visit the family there every now and again. Would be lekker to take my bike with next time.

We have a place in Deneysville, mostly dirtroad riding and little bits of single track to ride, not too sure about the Vaalpark area.

I recently did the Clotan Steel 70km mtb race, started at Stonehaven on the Vaal, if you want I can share the route with you, didn't seem to be any private land that we were riding through. not sure about how safe it would be to ride the route alone though.

The Vanderbijl guys have the single track trail close to the university. Then there is the open veld between Vaalpark and the R59 that has some single track. I don't know how safe option 2 is though.

There is also a trail from Vaalpark to Vanderbijl, BUT as far as I know you have to use the R59 to cross the "stream" (I find the R59 dangerous).

I have seen some guys and ladies going from Sasolburg to Parys on the R59 and then turning left on the first gravel road. I have done these roads on the motorbike and they were cool. I have also ridden the tar R59 from Sasolburg to Parys, and I know there are some decent gravel roads turning off the R59 (but getting there is a bit far)

Finally, I have ridden on the plot roads to the west of Vanderbijlpark (otherside Stokkiesdraai). I don't know how safe it is, and I have had dogs chase me (it is a public gravel road), but also a good ride.

With pie shop waypoints?

Ja en koffie! But I know all the decent pie shops.

I can export the GPX file from Strava, will that be okay?

I have NO idea what that means...

Please CJ. O, my other nick is Pieman, purely cause I love Piemans Pastries so much.

Howzit.

I am also from the Vaal area. As far as I understand the NWU club do group rides on Saturday mornings from Stone Haven. Not sure about the ride or the distance.

I am on weekends in the vaal area. My normal route is from the Vaal Mall to ecopark and back.

Hi Vaal Riders, shortly to be completed are specific trails at Peninsula on Vaal. Just outside Oranjeville. A distance to ride I know but it may be what you are looking for on weekends.
