Not Stonehurst, across the road from Westlake Golf Course? They look BEEEEEG :|

No Pinehurst jumps are in the park in Pinehurst Road in Constantia.

We used to hack around there and build. The problem is it's in a public park so every now and then someone would come along and "adjust" them.

That's why building jumps is best done in seclusion and why builders get territorial.

Remember the story about them wanting to sue the builder of the teeter totter on the Spruit when a rider fell and paralysed himself. Not sure how it ended but i know there was a big stink and lots of people ducking for cover.

Its really an unclear area the liability, but its always nice not to have to contemplate them suing you cause you and your mates built some lekker places to ride.

People who injure themselves severely  through their own stupidity can end up with big medical bills, so if they think they can hook someone with money to pay something to them and get some of their grievances aired, they may do it.

I hear you, but there are people who can build jumps and then there are people who think "how hard can it be" and then build shite with lips that kick harder than a mule and landings that are really inadequate.

so then where can i jump in the Constantia area that are bigger than the chris nixon jumps?

Get involved with the crews that built them, and ask permission. Then you'll also find out any plans, how they want them to be maintained, how to dig etc etc.

Either that, or make your own, in your own spot. But that will take time. Lots of time. It's seriously rewarding though

Bellaire.

Jonty and Andrew started them. If you take the time to stop and actually look at them you might well soil your trousers.

The gaps are so big if you rigged tarps across them they could double as homeless shelters

I'm going to check them out next week. Just for a gander and all.
