The masses are yet to arrive. The last few days have been absolute bliss in comparison to other years.

Out on the N2 via Natures valley to Storms river is lovely and then out to George up Outiniqwa pass is also a good ride.

To get round Kaimans pass you can pull into wilderness and go up the tar road there and then go over the old tar pass and come out in George, it's a bit steep but a great ride

Steep is an understatement.

The initial climb out of Wilderness is about as steep as a hill can get, it will annihilate you, the rest is up down up down, windy, narrow.

It's a dangerous road to ride though, lots of blind spots, cars often won't see you until they are almost on top of you and some people appear to treat it like a race track. There is zero space for cars to safely pass, no yellow line never mind road margin and there's a thick wall of bush on either side of the road in most parts, it's so dense that even during the day it can be almost too dark to see your car speedometer without the lights switched on. Old skool main road style, single lane bridge passes, quite rough in places, road follows the lie of the land, lots of hairpin bends.

I'd rather ride down it, it's the continuation of the road to Saasveld, ride from George to Wilderness. It would be a worthwhile ride, probably early morning would be best in terms of traffic and enjoyment of the scenery.

Pretty stupid to go on holiday this time of the year ;).  As I said I have not gone there in high season.  I normally went there October or over Easter when the large volumes are not there.
