Iwan Kemp Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hi T-man, Welcome to Bike Hub. RSX came out as the low-end SIS shifter in the 1995 model year and was 7-speed. It was a step below 105, which was a step below 600. RSX-100 was introduced a few years later, and was RSX with a slightly nicer finish. In today's line up RSX and RSX-100 would both be the equivalent of Tiagra. If it's in good condition there's no reason it shouldn't be able to get the job done. Just know that parts will be non existent and most likely expensive as you will need to get it from a collector or restorer. There are a couple of shops around that know their way around older gear - any chance you will be able to pop into one of them with the bike for them to look at?

droo Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 7 speed is going to be a beast to get spares for, but those drivetrains last forever. I must have put 25 000 km onto a chain and it was still fine when I upgraded. Just make sure the chain is in good nick and the shifters work and you'll be fine.

Vetseun Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 My first Cannondale had RSX standard fitted. I took one look at the tripple chain ring and I ordered a new Campag Veloce groupset. R2400.00 ZARS in those days.
