Overdrive 2

Hi all

I have a Giant Anthem with the overdrive 2 system. I am wanting to upgrade my frame to the newer anthem frame but it has the overdrive 1 system.

Will my fork from OD2 fit in a frame with OD1

As far as I know yes, the overdrive 2 is the steeretube that is larger.

Would just need to put in the OD2 top cup and bearing assembly.

As Flowta said, needs the top headset assembly for the OD2 and will be fine.

Thanks guys.....just realised now that my current rear wheel is a quick release where the new frames have a threw axel.

Does this mean buying a whole new hub?

You can get an adapter, depending on the wheelset.

Some hubs are interchangeable between the sizes by changing the end plugs.

Not sure about sure about giant hubs. If this is the case get yourself a hope hub, last hub you will need to buy(almost)

Headset - as per Flowta. As for the hub, if you've got the DT Swiss version you can convert, if it's the Formula one you may as well just buy a new wheel.

The 2016 frame comes with a conversion kit for the frame, allows you to use your 12mm QR skewer as a through axle.

 

I had a warranty claim on my 2015 frame and Dragon sports provided me with a 2016 frame and it came with the conversion kit.

 

Just be careful with the 2016 frame as I got 2 (reject) frames were one of the internal cable routing ports were the wrong way around. Where the cable should go into the frame it was made for a cable to come out of the frame...
