Sepia Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Did it foolishly when it was closed to traffic. Seemed very safe to me and I did not see anybody else. Would not suggest doing it on a road bike as the maintenance on the road has not been very good....could have improved but I doubt it. Do it, you should be fine.

Do it, you should be fine.Was thinking just this (mtbiking the pass)when traveling down from PE recently and saw the pass is closed ...Oppt for weekend in Plett/Keurbooms River,Get the wives to drop us off on the Jefferries bay side and take a nice ride back.

Road closed = no traffic (Good) but what if I needed help (not good) but it was fine on a MTB. No mechanicals, did not slide off the road, had to climb over the landslides and had a nice lunch on the bridge. Just do it.
