See I disagree there slightly.  While the Spez Camber is an awesome bike, IMO opinion the Specialized Stumpy 650 fattie kicks its backside :-)   I rode  the Camber, Stumpy 29er and Stumpy 650 at a test day and Stumpy 650 was my first choice, Camber 2nd and strangely I really didn't like the Stumpy 29er which was the bike everyone recommend I get.

Well, I can certainly understand that view - I also LOVED the Stumpy 6fattie but found the Camber to be more of an all-rounder and faster...

I cannot see a lot of people buying 6fatties for stage racing but, again, I may be wrong.  However, as a TRAIL bike only, I'd agree on the 6fattie.

Had the Pyga 120 for 2 years and handled everything I threw at it including Mankele 3 Towers , Hakahana enduros and race snake races in between !!

Recently upgraded to the Pascoe as I needed more bike as love going downhill as fast as I can and doing more enduro type races  , Pascoe still climbs well but not as good as the 120

so in my opinion , the best all rounder for the ups and downs and stage races is the 120 but you have the fun and excitement on the downs which makes it all worth it

for that price you can get a pike ,mix of X0 and X1 components  , dropper post and spank rims and a bike ready to be thrashed about

Im trying to move away from the Epic, Scalpel etc. The 2016 Evil looks amazing but with the exchange rate it will come in closer to 90k!!! WHY!!!

I was going to say evil, but the price is prohibitive....what about just getting the frame , ans cannibalising your your parts from the scalpel, buying the missing bits and rebuil it.

Frame and fork will work out nicely... 50k or so.

Ooooooooooh. That would, IMO, be the single best option.

Then get a set of these rims, built on to some hope hubs...

Using the parts from your Cannondale, you should come in at under 60k and have one HELLUVA bike
