These threads confuse me so much. I never know whether the OP is trying to protect his helmet, or using his helmet for protection. The helmet is swinging free, and there is a problem with its size, which indicates re-measurement is needed, surely? I say always wear protection on your helmet, cos if you catch a crab, or your back end swings out, you never know how long it will take to sort out the result. But then, as I said, what the hell do I know. Happy Riding!!

It's your head, do want you want. Personally, I like mine.

 

Just a quick story. A kid in my neighbourhood, died riding his bike in his own driveway. Hit his head on the fibrecrete wall.

 

Maybe think of your family, each time you ride with wind in your hair.
