It is only designed to assist with falls from about 1.5m at no forward speed.I'm pretty sure I'm taller than that on my bike and I hit the ground at speed and cracked it good and proper. My ears rang but my head was fine. nuff said. I for one will always wear a helmet.

I now have compression garments. But at least I wore my helmet, with the strap loose. So now everyone is happy, I have a lid one and no one moans, ho well lets be one of the shee... no wait, lets retract that for fear of lynching.
