Yes the substitution open later this year because past history shows that more people are more certain they want to / don't want to ride after January is done and dusted and reality has set in

I have absolutely now idea how the substitution works, but I would like to know if and how much the fees involved might be.

I might be able to get an entry, but I'm not keen on refunding the guy for the entry and then having to pay again for the substitution.

Info from the CTCT office this morning: that I forwarded to a potential purchaser of my entry:

  1. Substitutions will open on the 3rd February at 1pm
  2. Current entry holder  must log in and tick the box that it is available for substitution which will automatically generate a letter to authorize the substitution. They will forward this to the current entrant for signing.
  3. "Purchaser" must then log on using their own details, which means that they must register if they have not done any previous Races.
  4. You can then select current entry holders name and DOB to access the substitution.
  5. You will have to pay a substitution fee online of R250.00.

So your entry is going to cost you R470.00 to purchase my entry plus R250.00 to the CTCT for the substitution. (R720.00)

Point No 4 I find a bit confusing, however, they assure me that there will be full instructions on their Website on how to go about this.

Unfortunately, there is a substitution fee of R250.00 so unless you find a kind entrant willing to donate his entry it's going to cost you R720.00 in total, or you can go for a charity entry, and the cheapest I could find was about R1700.00.

Thanks for the reply joevan,,was told by someone that the substitution would cost the same amount as the entry, but R720 sounds more reasonable than R940.Will see if I can still get that entry.
