samson99 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I have been running the on-one gravel road 40mm tyres tubeless on mtb rims (vittoria creed wheelset with gorilla tape and stans sealant) on a hybrid commuting bike. I run them at a touch over 4 bar (maybe a bit less at the front). They were a bit leaky for a while - sidewalls seemed a bit permeable (oddly mostly on the rear tyre). So far no issues regarding burping/coming off the rim. Overall I'm very happy with them.Oddly i had the same leaking back tyre with the same rims and tyres. But all good now. how do you find the wear on the tyre?
SpruitCommuter Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Wear is okay - I am commuting on them - half trails and half road. I think the road is taking its toll. The other day the rear tyre got a cut in it (glass I think) and it wouldn't seal up quickly and so I plugged it which worked well.
milky4130 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Should a tube be required what type would Work, normal road tubes or do you get cx specific size tubes?
Ryanpmb Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Should a tube be required what type would Work, normal road tubes or do you get cx specific size tubes?Conti make a touring tube for 28C and larger tyres. I use these and haven't had any problems. I carry a slighter smaller and lighter standard road tube as a spare for a get me home solution should I get a puncture.
