Eugene Posted February 18, 2016 Share I was given a set of Alex Road wheels. They came with a black braking surface. Obviously, with time, the colour of the surface has started to wear of and they look terrible. It there anyway that I could make the surface black again or cover up the silver marks? I assume paint is out of the question as it will probably effect the braking quality and it would probably just wear off the first time it is used. Has anybody tried normal clothes dye? I've heard of people soaking their aluminium parts in clothes dye to colour it. Do you guys think that would work or would it wear off quickly as well. Dazshell Posted February 18, 2016 Share Go buy a black permanent marker and just keep touching up.
supertorro Posted February 19, 2016 Share Given that under normal use the braking surface is losing its' colour, you can either try toa) claim its' a manufacturing defectb) or more realistically admit that braking is achieved through friction, and said friction is pretty much going to wear down anything eventually Skylark
