Hi guys,

Does anyone have a list of seeding events in Gauteng for the 94.7 Cycle Challenge 2016.

Will be the first one, so any guidance will be appreciated.

Eagerly waiting for entries to open!!!!

Emperors Palace Classic is one of them.

which won't count for much due to it being soooo flat.

All racetec events till end September / early October will count.

if I'm correct, if a race is over 80km then it does not have any weight added on to it

Think he is referring to the seeding beta which is likely to be around 0.7 for the race.

I think we are missing the question here...

The OP wants a complete list, in order to plan the year ahead

Do I have to qualify for the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge?

No, you do not have to qualify to take part, but we do suggest that you participate in other races throughout the year. This will ensure that you are fit for Cycle Challenge Sunday and other events could better your start time for the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge. The organising committee will use events timed by Race Tec between 7 September 2015 and 4 September 2016 which are 90km's or more for seeding.

In a sense you're correct but a Beta still applies.

Secret to 947 seeding is to enter as many Racetec events as possible. Your first one will be in the last batch if you have no history.

Over time you will move up the batches, so when you get to the best seeding event, Rand Water R4V, you will be in a batch of your peers.

R4V is always the best as the elites ride a different route, so seeding is worked out excluding them.

You will also be in better form compared to earlier in the year.

Except if like what happened at the Carnival race (not racetec) and the fastest open group rider was almost 6min (if i recal correctly) after the fastest time set by a tandem. Then you screwed on that one

hopefully this year us VA's behave at the R4V and dont get DQ

We (actually Peak Timing) have an arrangement with the seeding committee for the 947 to include the CCMNC results.

Looks like I need to follow up with them to ensure the results ARE included again.

Does a MTB event count towards seeding for a Road Event?

If its a event timed by Racetec, then yes. (Ie. the 94.7 mtb race)
