XTR M9000 Reach Adjustment

Need some help.

Reach on my XTR brakes seem a bit far. There is a little 2mm allen that seems to only change bite point.

I need to move the levers closer to the bar, any ideas?

Shimano user manual PDFs that I have found don't help much.

That is where you set the reach If I understand you correctly.

I want to set the reach, but turning that 2mm jobby doesn't move the lever it just makes it bite sooner or later. Actual lever position at rest is same :(

There should be another skrew near the master cylinder, behind the lever that's the reach

however its dependent on whether you have the trails or race versions...

Let us know...

Good Luck

Yes that's the little bastard but if I turn it, it adjusts the bite point not the reach. If I turn it all the way, then it bites immediately but the position of the lever doesn't change. Other direction, bites close to the bar, but position of lever doesn't change.

Maybe something is not Lekker with mine.... Ag fokkit :(

Thanks for the help guys!

That's strange, cos the XTR Race doesn't have bite point adjustment as a feature, according to the interwebs.

I know!! That's supposedly done with a jippo of taking the wheels out, pump brakes.... I'm probably doing something wrong....

A thought - it might be activating the piston instead of bringing the lever closer to the bar. maybe try doing it when pulling the lever, or jiggling it about a bit.

That's exactly what was happening.

Took the lever off, saw there was a little u clip behind that 2mm screw that was not engaging, must have come loose. Pushed it back in, working again, reach adjusted lekker. Putting the lever back on, turned the screw clean off the mounting to handlebar. One problem solved, now to deal with this... Vok

Thanks for the help!!
