Which 120mm or 140 mm fork

So I am looking for a fork and am trying to decide whether i should go Rock Shox or Fox.

I was an avid Fox fan but am now running Rock Shox. My choice is either of these and budget is less than R 10k. I am looking at these two just because of local serviceability, parts and resale.

Seems to me Rockshox are easier to service and less temperamental than Fox and require less servicing plus that Fox, although probably still the leader, has been caught up to as of late with their recent release (FIT and CTD).

I want a 120mm fork ideally XC/Trail - something tha could be put on an XC bike and raced but that has  a bit more length.

I always liked the ravel adjustable Fox TALAS forks but they seem to give a lot more hassles.

Criteria therefore:

- new i.e. next gen

- 120mm ideally something 120mm now but could be 140mm in the future (in case i build a more relaxed bike)

- stable platform controls i.e. lock out - for climbing (I currently run a Rock Shox Brain on my Specialized)

What would you guys recommend ?

Fox 34 Factory fits all your criteria but not the price range so you'd have to drop to the Performance range. I would avoid 32mm stanchions if you know you will go to 140mm in future ....

Pike will easy do it too but same cost problem for the top RCT3 models so you might gave to downgrade.

Get the Revelation and drop it to 120 (sure you should be able to). then you can bump it up to 130 or 140 later if you need...I run my fork 10mm longer than manufacturers recommendation and am much preferring it that way.

Pike is not a option if he does XC riding, you not doing that for any justice then.

Mrp loop 32 mm or stage 34 both can run at 140 & 120. And are so super plush with awesome small bump compliance. Top fork in my mind ????

and what about local support and pricing ?

bibi is the importer as far as I know. And his service and back up is brilliant. Not sure of pricing now, I think pike money now.
