Kalbo oval

Apparently something to do with strengthening/hardening of the steel they use, hence the goldish color. I heard it's the same material they use in Captain America's shield as well as Wolverine's claws....allegedly.

It's the spicific type of Anodizing they do that comes out that colour. It makes the ring more hard wearing.

But really...spraying it is what I will do. Will have zero effect on the functionality and if cleaned properly before will look fine as well.

That changes things, I recon I will just respray my bike rather.

Just spray it...They have never made another colour oval other than the current one.

The paint will come off the teeth where the chain is as with every other chainring on the market :P

On a serious note, what spray would you use? just normal spray can?

Some guys will argue this is also the case with the Pyga frame...Any other color Pyga (other than green) is actually a fake.

Ya, anything that says it'll work for metal.

Only the teeth really take any wear so shouldn't rub off or anything

I have run 32,34 & 36 T from Kalbo & am currently trying a 34 Oval.

The result has been a revelation  for me ( as it has been for a few other guy`s that have tried it. )

A 32 / 34 Oval with an 11 / 42 should get you anywhere you want to go !

What about black and gold? This wasn't from aliexpress I promise..

I had a Kalbo oval on my previous bike and loved it, would like to get one for my new bike now but they only have that gold color. Awesome product but please just try and make a Black one if possible. Gold on a green Pyga just does not go IMO.

I was running a 36T round and went to 34T oval, definitely worked for me and I noticed a difference in climbing.

Other than that I would recommend this product and I received good service from them as well.

That is the natural color of the hard anodizing

I ordered the 32 oval, 16t and the 42t but had to cancel due to medical expenses not planned for for my daughter. Wanted it so much for my 41st tomorrow, ag well, will just re-order when Zuma pays back his dues[emoji20]

Thank you Colin from Kalbo and my wife Denise for going through with the deal without my knowledge, much appreciated.

One question though, I have the xt long cage clutch derailer, but I found that if the clutch is on, changing is very hard, when off it is much smoother. So can I leave the clutch off and will the new cassette rings and the front ring work in and will changing then be smoother with clutch on?
