jonnow Posted May 2, 2008 Share So, i have decided that I would like to try my hand at MTB riding, but am not sure where to start. I'm not into the whole idea that I need to go and spend money again on another new bike. Should I settle for a cheapish 2nd hand bike and start there, or should i borrow a bike and start there? Advice please...
joevan Posted May 2, 2008 Share If you've never MTB'd at all, try and borrow a bike first and ride with some mates. It is very different from Road biking!! If the bug bites, which it probably will, go to a good LBS for further advise on bikes. THese days, you can get a good entry level MTB with decent specs for under R8000.00. Don't know where you stay, so can't give advise on which LBS to go to.

jonnow Posted May 2, 2008 Share Put 25c tyres on your road bike and come ride Phambili on Sunday. I would love to have been there, but my boss (unfortunately my dad) wanted his dogs in Southbroom with him this weekend, and i had to drive down (step-brother in tow ) and I'm not going to get to ride at all this weekend
