Its absolutely sh#t...buy it and give it to me  . Just kidding. big mongoose fan and one of the mongoose's on my "I still want" list. I have a 2006 Teocali, the khyber's smaller brother and she is a blast to take down a hill.

Nor sure if I would use it for dj though. Not sure if the rims will survive a few cases from botched landing. Will make a fun enduro/trail bike though...just my 2c

Asked some more pro riders and they said khybers are heavy bikes and not very good,

You're torturing yourself. Its a decent trail/slopestyle bike. Wont do too well as a park rat. But if you're pointing it downhill and doing some ramps and drops it'll be fun for sure. It is kinda heavy. You not gonna be the first guy up the hill but you'll get there and its not really about that is it.

Pro riders have pretty high standards and by extension a more breathing room when it comes to budget. If you're after a jumper then get a jumper. Saw some good deals floating around recently. But if you want a solid downduro all rounder I'm sure the Kyber is fine. I guess the deciding factor for me would be specs vs price. What we looking at here?

LOL. Yeah, that's the typical response when considering a bike that has fallen "out of favour" cos it's not the latest and greatest or 650b and Santa Cruz.

Yes, it's heavy. No, it's not earth shatteringly gorgeous and no it's not a new model. But guess what it is - strong, fit for purpose and will give you LOADS of fun. It's a brilliant starter bike, and actually CAN be built relatively light. But if you're spending what i think you're spending or thereabouts, you won't find anything even close to it in terms of suitability as a slopestyle / freeride bike.

As a DJ bike - I'd go more towards the hardtail section - like a Giant STP or a GT Chucker or something. Better suited if you're JUST going to be jumping with it.

Planning to use it for bigger jumps than my jump bike can handle, and some FR and enduro

Well then it's pretty much what you need. It IS a bit heavy for pedalling up the hills in Enduro, but it'll do the job. Just need a longer seatpost in that case - just switch it out when you do an enduro.

Seems ideal then, would I get on

for max 7k?

You should be able to get one for between 5 & 7k, yeah. Another option would be a teocali, which is a bit lighter.

Can also get a pinnr for 7 to 5k
