Milosh Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 That sounds like a long commute I did mine ( 34 Km ) on a MTB Dual No ways i could have done it safely on a Road bike Ideal would be a Rigid MTB 1x10 as there are some proper hills maybe a SS but unlikely as energy levels would have to be optimal every time Ok so this got me thinking of the ideal , and a good frame with rigid fork came up and I pulled the trigger , more to follow when i take some pics
Belgarath Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Ok so this got me thinking of the ideal , and a good frame with rigid fork came up and I pulled the trigger , more to follow when i take some pics Did the same... Asked a question, got a new bike
Allrounder Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Still deciding if I should convert my roadie to a ss since the rear derayler bend in my crash. I have been on a bike yesterday, but not my road bike. Still needs to be fixed.
Hackster Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Our factory is in a dodgy part of town so I think that an old bike with a frame sprayed pink is probably my best bet...

wildwindfr Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Hi. Found this poll now. Use my Mtb. Have a 16km commute one way. It is split exactly 8km gravel road and 8km tar. I do sometimes take a longer route back home that is 25km. Still 8km gravel though. The more I read the better a cx bike or similar sound. Will save my Xt components for comps.
ChrisF Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 way too many thorns along my commute .... tubeless MTB Also the front shock HELPS for the condition of the road along the sides ..... nothing else would work for MY commute. If my knees "goes", or if I need to commute further I would seriously consider an eBike ....
