2x & 3x Front Dérailleurs

Stupid question maybe, but can I have a quick indication if I'm correct.

Is there a difference between a 2x and 3x FD? Can I use a 3x FD on a 2x setup. Isn't the range/amount of movement just bigger/larger on a 3x FD?

But 2x FD has a shorter range of movement.

So I can use a 3x FD on a 2x crank, but not a 2x FD on a 3x crank?

Or, am I missing something?

That will be a common question in mtbiking in a few years time!

Our children will never know of this, like cassette tapes...lol

Bkiksem. You still alive? Long time.

Yea man long time!!

You wont beleive but I spent some time in the Campy Factory, got married, started working for a living ... etc etc

I enjoyed the Italians so much I might now finally put an Italian goupset on my Italian frame!! :D

Hopefully I will get round to starting a thread about that visit here soon!

You keeping well?

Cassette tapes are making a come back - can you believe it who knows for how long. LP's are making a big come back.

All good thanks. Out of curiosity, I am now running Shimano on both my MTB's and I'm enjoying it. Road bike remains Campagnolo.

You have to share that story Tank. Don't make me wait....
