Saffa' date=' do you know what it is like waking up to heavy breathing at your bedroom window, and finding that it is a group of white tail deer that are grazing outside your window? Or to go ice skating down the local river with your rifle on your back hunting ducks. Or riding your mountain bike for 50 miles of single track and not seeing a person or climbing over a fence, and you are on the edge of town? Go and try it and if you come back you can tell us about the other side. I loved it.[/quote']

why the ducks? surely the deer would've made for easier hunting (they are outside your window, after all) and better eating?

Holy Roller, I thought the same thing, breakfast in bed. But laws prevent you from shooting deer so close to your house or a road. The biggest danger on the roads in Indiana is not pedestrians or taxis but deer. They are not very clever.

It is clear that things are getting more difficult GLOBALY, however being at the bottom of africa, it is going to get that much more difficult. I am considering leaving, not due to crime or unemployment, but the simple reality that in about 10 years the cost of living is going to be untenable in this country, which is not planning properly to adress the power and oil crisis - what is our solution - to build more coal and oil power stations, the guys making decisions in this country unfortunatly dont have a clue.

There will be less and less less food to go around and spiraling transport, electrical and service costs, the effect is that the government (our tax money) will have to subsidise the poor more and more. ie less money in our pockets.

Rather go to a 1st world country where you can get around without a car, which doesnt have a massive poverty problem and where they are actualy planning for the future.

However at the moment things are good in SA, I am making money in my own business and loving life, I will simply be making an economic decision in the next 5 years.

saffa, don't know how religions you are or how NB it is to you. Indiana is part of what they call the Lutheran belt. The people take faith seriously, yes there are exceptions, but they majority are caring passionate Christians. I have only seen glimpses of this in SA. Schools are often attached to churches and so no issues with praying in schools, and they are not private, so they are affordable.

I wrote an article which I submitted to News24, but they never published. I guess it was hitting to close to the truth, from a white man's perspective. If anyone wants to see it I'll post it.

Sounds controversial, please post it.....

Would love to see it!!!

Here you go. I titled it "Racially Frustrated".

Being white in South Africaon> has just about become

a crime. I am tired. Tired of having to take the blame for something I didn?t

do' date=' or take part in.

If I am wrong, please comment and let me

know. When Johan Nel killed black people a while back, it was headline news for

weeks, the newspapers and online agencies were falling over themselves to cover

the story and sensationalize it. Why? He was white. A white man killing a black

man in South Africaon>

is unheard of, the pinnacle of injustice and sin. Not to mention of course, it

must have been racially motivated, as are all events that put whites against

blacks.

However, when a farmer is killed, his wife

raped and burned with boiling water, it makes the headlines for about 6

minutes, and then swiftly disappears into the realms of being another day in South Africaon>.

Dozens of [read: white'] people are shot at, hijacked, and murdered in South

Africa on a monthly basis yet still there is a vast majority of black people

that criticise whites of being racist? I read News24 columnist articles often,

and often I see a black individual insisting that the country?s white

population apologise and stop their racist ways. Am I missing something here?

The vast majority of violent crime in this country is committed by black people,

so what must we apologise for? Only whites, it seems, have the ability to be

racist. Racial acts committed by any other colour always have an excuse.

Then there was David Bullard.

According to the media, Bullard is the

reincarnation of the devil himself, a prime example of a modern day racist.

Viva. To quote another News24 user, Unathi Kondile, ?We all know Bullard is an

unapologetic anarchist writer with a tendency for taking a swipe at blacks now

and again.?. Then, we have columnist Mr. Jon Qwelane, of whom I can say exactly

the same if I change black to white: ?We all know Qwelane is an unapologetic

anarchist writer with a tendency for taking a swipe at whites now and again.?.

Have a look at any of Jon?s articles. I cannot recall one where he did not cast

the racist blanket over just about every single white person in this country.

David Bullard was fired for what he wrote; yet I am amazed that Mr. Qwelane?s

drivel gets printer week in and week out. Why, David Bullard is the wrong

colour. Again - Only whites, it seems, have the ability to be racist.

Welcome to another day in sunny South Africaon>.

PS: Calling me racist will fall on deaf

ears. I have coloured and Indian friends, and often speak to my black neighbour

and his wife, and we have great respect for each other.
