Rock Guy Posted June 27, 2016 Share I am in the market for some new clipless shoes and it looks like the Shimano AM9's get some good reviews for their price tag. Trouble is I've never seen these in a shop around here. I can't seem to find any in local online shops either. Buying from CRC or Bike-discount.de would just slam me with tax, so these aren't really viable options. Anyone know who stocks these shoes locally? The reason why the Shimano's are appealing is because of their $100 price tag as opposed to the $140 price of the Spez 2FO's. They are in a league of their own when it comes to value for money (at least on paper). If you buy Shimano offshore it will work out to more or less the same price as the Spez or 510 shoes, which then defeats the whole purpose of the exercise. It was worth a shot to find out if there's someone out there that stock them at least. Guess I'll just go down to the Spez shop with 200K and go buy a Sworks Epic and a lycra suit now. I'm not having a dig at you, all I am saying is what Spoke points out...the fact that the local Shimano Agents ( I think we all know who they are by now) don't and will not see the point in bringing in these shoes - that is why you're unable to find them in shops...My point was that IF coolheat were to bring them in then I highly doubt that they would be anywhere close to the overseas price - probably closer to the price of the Spez items - because its a specialist item therefore you must pay more for it...that is the way they work...IMO they seem to have a hard time keeping the basic items in stock at the moment. My point was the only way you will get those exact shoes is to buy them from the likes of CRC and pay the shipping etc. Apologies if my sarcasm was lost in translation... I have officially worn out my 2fo's and am also in the market for a new pair of #enduro shoes. I like the 2fo cliplights but at 3k that is a touch dear..... the Kestrels at 2200 from Dial'd look like an option but apparently don't really walk well.
