I don't want to be associated with pros actually. I have met a few that are quite decent but a lot are kind of boring OCD types. Also the hyper aggressive competitive personalities are a total PITA. As long as you are talking about cycling or and about them you are all good to go but yep, they can be kinda one dimensional.

On the original topic - Namaqua Quest 2 weeks ago sold out. Only 1 big name - Hannele Steyn, with respect to my fellow riders the best male riders there would have barely qualify as wannabees.

 

Only benefit I see of inviting pros is if they have a social media following and they can create some awareness on your race by posting about it beforehand.
