How to service a Rock Shox Revelation shock

Rubber hammer is super important , other wise you scratch or do major damage to the lowers or even strip the threads in the shaft bolts as well.(using a metal hammer..)

For sealed dampers I agree, but RS emulsion dampers are about as easy to service as lowers.

My problem is the special tools like soft pipe clamps in particular sizes and special adapters for re-pressurising damper assemblies/negative springs ). Critical to avoid scratching of metal surfaces when you assemble/dis-assemble. I'm keen and curious but lacking tools that are difficult to buy if, like me, you are not a registered dealer.....it limits the scope of what I will take on.

and where do I find this Droo?

The lesser spotted Droo can often be found banging stuff with a hammer around the Cape town Science Centre...or at Stoke Suspension in Obs ;)

Cool thanks for this. I typically use either old (clean) cotton shirts or paper towel, but as I mentioned, neither are truly lint free, yet the manuals always mention 'lint free towel' so I thought it was maybe some commercial towel I can't seem to get my hands on.

Cool, I'll look into it.

Gracias.

I use microfibre cloths (mostly because I have plenty) - they can be washed and reused - also awesome for picking up small particles - use them to clean my coffee machine and counter top, then in the washing machine.

But the real deal is here - careful for getting a sticky cloth...

I've been threatening to do it for a long time but my plan to get around this was to have a friend who works a lot with solid nylon make up a set of soft jaws for my vice with various diameter holes drilled out for clamping. Buying the branded clamps is just crazy expensive, and hard to find.
