Bicyclegear Posted October 27, 2016 Share It is open and accessible to all riders, the only requirement is that you register and pay R30 to use the trail and ride with a trail number plate when using it. The permit is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Did i understand this right, R30 for a year permit? We want people to ride the trail. All money raised from permits will go towards more build/maintenance days. The R30 permit is valid for a year. As the network increases so the fee will as more work is needed to maintain things... nickc, Captain Fastbastard Mayhem, DJR and 1 other

Flowta Posted October 31, 2016 Share It will certainly be the idea. Once the EMP allows for riders to use the Cecilia Forest jeep track, you will be able to ride the entire greenbelt from Tokai, all the way off road linking into the Hout Bay trails. The "saddle" down to Hout Bay from the Mast climb,is still a bit steep... It's a bit overgrown (haven't been up there since the fire),and bit steep in places, but quite fun Captain Fastbastard Mayhem

Bicyclegear Posted November 2, 2016 Share Just a reminder of the inaugural "Bicyclegear.co.za Blowout" happening on the #vlakkenbergmtbtrail this Sunday 6th November. The B Group will start at 8:45 and do 2 laps of 2km. The A Group will start at 9:30 and do 4 laps of 2km. The start is on the Hout Bay pipe-track. If you park at Constantia Nek, follow the pipe-track on the way down into Hout Bay. If you are riding up from Hout Bay, follow Fynbos Close onto the pipe-track until you find us at the start. We will be present at the start from 8:00 until 10:30.There will be 30 riders allowed to race for each group. We are selling R30 Vlakkenberg MTB Trail permits at the the start. This allows you to ride on the trail and have free entry into the monthly "Bicyclegear Blowout" events. All monies collected go towards building more trail and maintenance of it. http://bicyclegear.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Advert-of-event.jpghttp://bicyclegear.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/From-CN-directions.jpg

dirtypot Posted November 24, 2016 Share Question - I bought my permit on the 9th November, but haven't heard anything since then.Do I now just pitch up and ride? Do I collect a board from somewhere? How does it all work?I haven't had a chance to get there yet, but want to very very soon!!
