XT M8000 Shift level getting stuck

I had a bit of a tumble on the W2W and since then when i shift to easier gears on my i-spec m8000 shifter the lever gets stuck behind the other level.

So the lever closest to the ground pushes past the top lever as you are shifting down and then when you release its supposed to come back all the way but it gets stuck under the other shift lever (the one to go to harder gears)

I initially thought maybe it just bend a little so i tried bending it but i dont want to force and break something...

Any advice?

Not at the moment, but i can tell you visually nothing wrong with it, that i can see, its not "obviously" bent.

I can try and get some pics tonight.

Same thing happened to me, I "gently" bent it back.

i tried bending it but if feels like it doesnt want to bent back and i dont want to force and then sit with the lever in my hand.

Either you bend it back and it works, or you will break it and need a new one.

Alternatively you can just buy a new one since Shimano don't do spares.

Good Luck

This. Either way you can't make it much worse than it already is.

Mine wasn't that bad, the two just touched (I could still shift if I pressed it really hard but then the lever got stuck).

Just bend it gently, if it snaps off buy a new shifter.

Whatever you do don't take it apart, reassembly will take a long time and will lead to many curse words!

The springs have to go in with tension and this can be troublesome.

The shifters still works 100% except the little lever gets stuck on its way back to its original position. ive been riding it like that since the w2w and all i do is help it past the top lever and its fine.

Its just a bit *** when you quickly want to hit granny on a surprise hill but otherwise im not going to break a 1k shifter then i'll rather leave it as it is.

When shifting one gear at a time it doesnt pass the top lever so it goes back to starting position.

maybe file the top( where it contacts the upper lever) with a small file and see if that helps.

I agree with this... Probably the safest option.
